Codes  | The Catholic ethos of BICS :

It is not an easy time to be a parent. The responsibility for educating a child and preparing him or her for the adult world has always been a daunting one, but today it seems to be more difficult than ever. In a world where success is seen to be everything, the spiritual and moral development of the whole person is often untended and ignored; faith has given way to moral relativism and rights are spoken of more than duty. For Catholic parents, Bics character provides the reassurance of a complete education, mind, body and spirit shaped by the love of Christ.

BICS is a Catholic school under the guidance of the Institute of Christ the King. We believe that the gift of faith and a relationship with God is offered to each one of us every day, and we desire to create an environment in which it is possible to respond to that.
The Institute of Christ the King

The Institute of Christ the King
The headmaster is a priest of the Institute of Christ the King, an international order founded in Italy in 1990. It numbers 45 priests and 50 or so seminarians who study at its motherhouse near to Florence. The Institute has a missionary charism, which seeks to combine faith and culture in an ambiance of Charity. The order is responsible for many other schools, notably in France.

The Institute places great importance on the liturgy, which Vatican II described as the ‘summit and source of Christian life’.

Dress code :

A uniform is compulsory at the BICS. Along with our parents, we believe that it avoids distinction according to wealth and also fosters a community spirit and pride in our identity.

Eat Well

The Brussels International Catholic School offers a hot lunch for all its pupils. This is prepared daily using fresh organic ingredients. The cost of lunch is 5 € per day and this is invoiced by term for pupils who take this option.

We also wish to encourage a healthy lifestyle for all our children. To this end we do not allow canned fizzy drinks, and do not allow crisps and chocolate at snack time in the morning. Parents are asked to provide fruit for the morning recreation. Fruit juices are allowed at break times.
